Our Wives Join the Pod

Jen Wilson and Rachel Stone join the pod to set Matthias and Jordan straight.

In honor of Valentine’s Day last Friday, our own Valentines grace us with their guest-spot presence to talk about their approach to budgeting, finance, real estate, and putting up with us. We’re obviously lucky to have them on to discuss how they work, how they think, and how we do this crazy thing called life together. We cover the whole gamut: their youth, buying houses, budgeting, this current world of technology and personal finance, grocery shopping, bugaboos, the works.

Cupid’s totally into real estate. Come join us and our boos for a little chat—it’s an all-new Get Invested.

Thoughts & Tips

  1. Does having all the banking and financial information one can ask for actually make us more informed about our financial and spending choices?

  2. What’s your version of budgeting? Do you try to stay within a range, or do you try to aim for as most exact as possible?

  3. It’s just tough out there to not give into the little enticement in the moment or pay for the convenience. We all do it; let’s all just try to keep it reasonable!

  4. Tips from Real Estate Jen:

    a. When buying a house, if you have reservations about a house’s features, remember that when you’re selling it, buyers will have the same reservations.

    b. When buying, consider seriously the things that you can’t easily change. Don’t worry about the things that you can easily change, like paint.

    c. Pictures of property should realistically enhance the great features of a house. Don’t take pictures with terrible lighting; don’t “catfish” prospective buyers.
